Happy Thanksgiving!

Before I attempt baking my first ever apple pie (I know, it’s about time I do it on my own!) I just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving! This is easily one of my favorite days of the year, and as I’ll be spending it entirely by myself, I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t feel a bit strange. My table is all set, but where is everybody? Oh that’s right, it’s just a regular day over here in Sweden… for the Swedes that is! I’m missing my family and friends quite a bit right now, but look forward to having our own Thanksgiving on Saturday.

I’ve got so, so much to be thankful for that I couldn’t possibly put them into words, at least not right now. Instead, I’ll spend today listening to Christmas music, baking apple pie and doing what I like best… decorating. As always, just about everything you see on my table is second hand (including the table itself which I recently painted and will be sharing with you). I left the thrift store yesterday with two adorable mini blue and white gravy boats (yes, I’m a dork) and that beautiful floral scarf. Scarves are absolutely my favorite table accessory! Who said you need a table cloth when you’ve got women’s clothing?

Anyways, I wish you all a relaxing couple of days off and hopefully a non-hungover Thanksgiving. ;)

  1. Make sure you tell everybody just how yummy your apple pie really was, despite a few yups and downs when it came to making the pie crust! Did you get a picture of it? I would love to see it!! Mom
